After realizing there's no such thing as a magical "bill paying fairy", I did the adult thing and got a job in the Oil and Gas Industry. I'm a former field engineer who has consulted on oil & gas rigs, both land and offshore. I've had the privilege of working all over the world, even living in Germany for 2 years performing R&D. I worked on multi-million dollar projects utilizing multi-million dollar tools. I was also responsible for the proper handling and securing of high energy radioactive sources at the rigsite. After that, I pivoted to the wonderful world of Data Science. I got a Master's from Georgia Tech in Computational Analytics, graduated from a 6 mont DS bootcamp, and I even mentor at the same bootcamp to this day. During my time as a Data Scientist, I was published as well as a presenter at Nvidia's GTC conference for my work using GPU clusters for training Deep Learning models. Fast forward to today, and I'm a Senior Software Engineer for Google. I currently work on the video conferencing platform Google Meet. My day to day is centered around SDK design and development in conjunction with multi-threaded API design and development.
